3D to 2D

Zoey wearing the form from the Body and form assignment.
An image of the shadow the form casts is overlaying the image of Zoey wearing the form to create a darkened effect.

Things I want when I have a house to put them in.

Magazines I find inspiring

Communication Arts

I have a subscription for this magazine and I suggest anyone going into the art and graphic design fields should as well. They have a student discount so it ends up being affordable.

Real Simple

This is more of a home and family magazine but it still gives me inspiration.

CMYK
A must have! It really doesn't cost much to subscribe and they also have student discounts.

GOOD

I'm more referring to the website than the magazine, but both  are fantastic inspiration as a graphic designer only the website is free inspiration.

My favorite books, of all shapes and sizes

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
What can I say, I am female therefore I am in love with Mr. Darcy.

Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salanger
it's so much better than The Catcher in the Rye

Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis
Really great retelling of Eros and Psyche

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Great classic. Worth rereading as an adult and not just as a high school assignment.

The Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowlings
I'm super jealous of these awesome redesigns

By The River Piedra I Sat Down & Wept by Paulo Coelho
I definitely sat down and wept while reading this.

The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien
I actually like The Hobbit a little bit more than the trilogy because it's a quick read and really light hearted.  Not so much doom and gloom but more fun and adventure.

The Short Happy Life of the Brown Oxford, Short Story by Philip. K. Dick
If anything were going to bring an inanimate object to life it would be irritation, right?

Children's Illustrated Books (Books I read to my daughter)

Counting Birds by Alice Melvin
Love the illustrations of the birds.

For Just One Day by Laura Leuck, Illustrated by Marc Boutavant
Great illustrations and fun for encouraging imagination

An A to Z Treasure Hunt by Alice Melvin
So creative and fun. I think even an adult would get a kick out of this scavenger treasure hunt book.

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Speaks for itself.

5 Books I would like to read and an extra one for good luck

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
I'm ashamed to say it is the recent release of the movie that has sparked my interest in the book.

Watership Down by Richard Adams
I have owed but not read this book for 10 years. I bought it with my allowance– that I earned doing way too much work for very little money–  when I was 14.

Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
Have owed but not read this book for 8 years. I bought this with money I earned with my first sorta job– teaching a couple of ballet classes a week at the company I danced with; one for older women, one for 4-6 year old girls.

Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said by Philip K Dick
I have owned but not read this book since I was 17. One of the first books I bought with money I made with my first real job, working at Atlanta Bread Company.

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
I know this is supposed to be her worst book but I still want to read it.

and Among Others by Jo Walton
A friend of mine read this recently and loved it.

I'm sad to say there are other books that I have yet to read after many years of ownership. Maybe someday I will have some free time to read them.
